There will always be a need for something by someone at some time. Often enough, we are only aware of what we need in life. It's ok to think of yourself at times, but...what if we stopped for a moment. Ask yourself "what do I possess that is no longer a need for myself but for someone else?" When God gives me anything I need I already know He thought of it way in advance. He's always 15 steps ahead. He also gift's me with joy from giving to others in need. I love getting the pleasure of helping anyone God puts in my path. There's no award that can take the place of that warm feeling you get. Let that blessing God originally gave you be a blessing for someone else.
